Grand Bahama Sailing Club is looking for 2 summer instructors.
Position 1: Full time sailing instructor
The position requires the following:
-Ability to work with children to teach the basics of sailing in a
safe and fun manner
-Organized and motivated. We want someone who will present ideas of
their own to promote sailing and social events at the clubhouse
-Boats used are Optimists, Lasers, and Flying Juniors. Optimist
teaching experience is a requirement
-Racing experience at the junior or collegiate level is a requirement
-Basic team racing experience is a plus
-Be able to effectively communicate with children and adults/parents
Position 2: Part time sailing instructor / private lesson
coordinator (adult & junior) / tadpole sailing coordinator (children
5-8)
As well as the "Position 1" requirements, the ideal candidate can
expect the following:
Part of salary to be based on tadpole and private lessons
Highly motivated and willing to seek out new business
Ability to promote and perhaps design flyers for advertising purposes
Networking and communication tools a plus
Instructors are housed at the Pelican Bay Resort in a water-front
suite. Breakfast, wireless internet, cable, and transportation are
provided. 1/2 airfare to the Bahamas is provided. (Passport required)
Typical work week is around 40hours of instructing with after-work
races/social events on some days.
Camp dates: June 27 - August 19
