*The University of Texas Sailing Team is Selling their Fleet of Vanguard FJs * *Austin, Texas - May 26, 2011 - *The University of Texas along with the Austin Yacht Club are hosting the 2012 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association National Championships right here in Austin, Texas. In order to prepare, the University of Texas Sailing Team and AYC will be selling their jointly-owned fleet of 18 Vanguard FJs. We are hoping to sell all 18 boats in order to supplement buying an entirely new fleet. ** The boats were originally purchased for the ICSA National Championships in 2005. The University of Texas Sailing Team and AYC have continually worked hard to perform minor repairs in order to keep the fleet in race-ready condition. With only slight cosmetic imperfections, the hulls are in great shape, leaving no soft spots or delaminations. The hulls also have rub rails and bow rails that protect against wear and tear. The fleet has never been transported and therefore has none of the inherent damage from a trailer. The boats are sailed on the 500 ft. deep Lake Travis and have no damage from salt water or shallow water impact. The foils are in great shape as well. The boats have withstood a variety of conditions from light lake breeze to heavy conditions exceeding 25 knots. All permanent rigging is in good condition and has been well taken care of since the time of purchase. We are also including our 2009 Quantum racing sails. These sails were cut with larger windowed jibs for light wind sailing. The mains are numbered and have the Texas Longhorn in sail tape. The sails are also colored in sets of 3, perfect for team racing. Because of this, priority will be given to those interested in purchasing the boats in increments of six. These sails have been used exclusively in race conditions, leaving them in great condition. We are offering these boats at $3,500.00 per boat. This includes: ● 2005 Hull ● Rigging ● Foils ● 2009 Quantum Sails We are willing to work with buyers to coordinate shipping, but that will be up to buyers to decide and execute. 9 FJs will be available for shipping during August 2011, with the remaining 9 reserved for shipping around March of 2012. Boats may only be reserved with a down payment of $1,750.00, the remaining balance must be paid when the boat is being picked up.
