A great turnout!

A historical note (from the SEISA Archive):
Baldwin Wood was a Tulane Alumni, avid sailor, and engineer. He designed the
New Orleans levee and pump system between 1899 and 1915. Some of those original
pumps are still used today and his design is still used more than 100 years
later. He also designed systems for Chicago, San Francisco, Baltimore and the
Zuider Zee in the Netherlands, reclaiming part of the Netherlands from the
North Sea.

When Wood died he left his boat, the Nydia, to Tulane and until 2003 it was
held in a special glass enclosure on campus. It is now in the Biloxi Maritime
Museum.
