It's time for the SEISA College Sailing Fall Season to start! But first, a few housekeeping items…
*1. **Eligibility & Registration* (* http://classic.collegesailing.org/directory/individual/*<http://classic.collegesailing.org/directory/individual/> ) All sailors need to verify their eligibility and that they are registered for the spring season. Visit: *http://classic.collegesailing.org/directory/individual/*<http://classic.collegesailing.org/directory/individual/> type in your school code or you last name to search. If you have a green check mark you are all set, if there is some other icon scroll down to see what it means and what you or your team administrator needs to do. THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD!! Unregistered sailors will be disqualified from competition. If an athlete plans to take a season off you need to declare yourself ineligible on the ICSA membership database as well, otherwise your eligibility will automatically roll-over. Sailors are allowed 8 semesters of competition within a 5 year period. Captains can pull a team list of all registered sailors by searching by school name. Teams need a Directory Administrator to approve competitors, if your team does not currently have one you can apply below the school search function. * * *2. Team Contact Information* (*http://collegesailing.org/teams/*<http://collegesailing.org/teams/> ) Please look up your team information on the ICSA site and make sure that everything is up to date and accurate. Click the “request change” button at the bottom left if it needs an update. *3**. SEISA & ICSA E-mail Lists* (http://collegesailing.org/mailing-lists/) The SEISA and ICSA E-mail Lists are the primary source of communication for the district and the country and include Notice of Race (NOR) and scores. Sailors are encouraged to sign up for both the district (SEISA) and national (ICSA) list. Please visit and read the e-mail guidelines on the ICSA mailing lists page (http://collegesailing.org/mailing-lists/) prior to posting anything. Schedule* See the SEISA Fall 2013 Schedule Google Doc<* https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvLzXojtZ_qEdE9fSlFiZ2pERExIc0YzVEtuY3ZIZUE&usp=sharing *<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvLzXojtZ_qEdE9fSlFiZ2pERExIc0YzVEtuY3ZIZUE&usp=sharing> >, It will be view only. You may also download the schedule. The schedule is subject to change. The document will be modified in that case and the district will be informed. *How the** **Schedule** Works**:* Last Fall the district modified the schedule to try and promote different types of racing. There are 5 types of regattas; *Re**gional** SEISA events*: These are smaller regattas held at smaller schools and are designed to promote regional racing among schools that are close by. These events are great for less experienced racers or Freshmen and Sophomores. *Primary SEISA events*: These are larger events at the schools with big fleets. They are designed to promote the highest competition possible. Schools are encouraged to attend these and sail their best people. A and B divisions may be combined into one start to run more competitive races. If a team’s budget only allows for a few regattas then they should attend their regional event and their closest Primary event. *Intersectionals*: These are multi-district regattas, some hosted within SEISA and others across the country. They are a higher level of competition .Teams are encouraged to participate in intersectional competition. Some Primary Events will also be intersectionals. *SEISA **Championships*: SEISA Championships are restricted to Regular and Associate member schools. *“Open” events*: These events are new and are being encouraged after the success of the Open Team Race last fall. Open Events can be attended by anyone, including Alumni and High School teams to increase the level of competition. SEISA is aiming for one Open event each semester, with fleet racing in the fall and team racing in the spring. *5**. Rules** & Resources* All ICSA Rules & Resources can be found here: (* http://collegesailing.org/resources/* <http://collegesailing.org/resources/>) This includes the procedural rules and eligibility guide as well as scoring and protest applications, grant request forms and racing participation (RP) forms. *6**. Regatta Scoring* Scoring for all regattas should be input by the host team into TechScore (* http://techscore.sourceforge.net/* <http://techscore.sourceforge.net/>) by the Tuesday following the regatta. If you need an account go to the TechScore registration page <* https://ts.collegesailing.org/* <https://ts.collegesailing.org/>> and get started! *This will take a few days to process**,** DO NOT DO THIS THE** **MORNING OF AN EVENT!* Regatta and team scores can be tracked on the ICSA scores page (* http://scores.collegesailing.org/* <http://scores.collegesailing.org/>) *7**.
