in earlier seisan data, there was no network code or location code, later it was added in in available space so older files can be read but will not have these codes. not so sure what happens to component code, but it does not look right. Lars should know, he wrote that part.

with respect to EW data, there was a bug in the program writing SEISAN data until about a year ago, so if you update EW (at least the module wrting seisan data), the problem should be fixed.

Intead of KONO L0N (presumably or perhaps it ought to be LHZ?)
KONO (? not sure what the network code is for this file, but that is what is
in the file name)

I get
KONO
L0 N for the component and network is simply a single space padded with nulls

a screen shot of the SAC plot is attached.

I have similar problems with seisan data created by earthworm and converted
to SAC where the station name becomes KSTNM = KWR  SH
instead of simply KWR
 KCMPNM = SH Z
instead of SHZ
and the network is blank.
 KNETWK =

I used seisan9.1 to make the conversions, has this been fixed in newer
versions or is this a bug in the wavetool program?
Thanks!
