in older versions of seisan, amplitude was stored with the phase readin or AMP. then seisan would try to figure out what kind of amplitude it was (e.g. for ml or mb). with many kinds of amplitudes trhsi is no longer possible for all kinds of amplitudes so we nbow always use the IASPEI standard names like IAML for ml. so that is what you should use.

Hi,

I'm picking the amplitudes with a third part program and want to write them in a S-file. I'm wondering what is the difference between storing the amplitudes in a "AMP" phase and putting them with a "P" or "S" phase. Does seisan process these amplitudes in a different way for magnitude calculation?

Thanks,

Christian
