So to start with; the whole setup is faulty.  Right now I am priviligied to 
work with cellar trolls that are keen on finding solutions instead of just 
seeing problems but times have been different so I know how hard it can be to 
persuade someone that they really have to open a hole in their beloved firewall.

One solution could be to run the tests on MSVirtualPC or VMWare.  Basically 
this is a good solution because the possibilites to reset and restart the 
testing environment are unlimited.
