Hi all,

the third (and probably final) release candidate for Semantic MediaWiki has
just been released [1]. It mainly includes the following new features and
fixes:

* New method for integrating inline queries via #ask parser function,
separation of query and printout requests, full compatibility with templates.
* New layout for Special:Ask to reflect #ask structure.
* New printout option: "?Category:Name" to ask for membership in that
category.
* Re-enabled service links (e.g. use [[provides service::online maps]] on any
page of a property to Type:Geographic coordinates).
* Re-enabled Type:Boolean.
* Prototype translation for Korean (still alpha).
* Various minor bugfixes.

All existing wikis will continue to work as expected, but inline queries can
now be created via a new parser function {{#ask ...}} in addition to the
existing <ask>...</ask> syntax. The new method enables full compatibility
with MediaWiki templates and parameters, and with other extensions' parser
functions (e.g. {{#if...}}). Since there is no formal docu yet, you may want
to look at some example query to get the idea [2].

Also, the config parameter $smwgQEqualitySupport now has different values. If
you use this setting, please read INSTALL (Notes on upgrading) for details.

This release is supposed to be feature-complete, and rather close to the final
SMW1.0. Of course, some further bugfixes will probably be done (depending
also on your feedback ;).

Enjoy,

Markus
