You should make a bug report then. Even with some non-standard
LocalSettings.php it shouldn't give an error.

Well, if you can point which entry it was, then I will check it out.
I've been running since MW 1.9.3 till MW 1.11.
But, actually I am quite paranoic, so I compare LocalSettings.php
generated by setup script with current and previous versions.
Then I upgrade the MW and remove/add necessarily entries in the
actual (working) LocalSettings.php manually.
