The fix was a good workaround that has probably caught all cases that are 
currently occurring in SMW, so the SVN version of SMW already should have 
worked fine since you applied the patch. But it did not quite get to the heart 
of the issue. I have now fixed the problem in a slightly different way in SVN.

thanks again to everyone contributing to this fix. The patch helped a lot to 
locate the real problem more quickly. (And time is very precious for me these 
days.)
