Unfortunately, it doesn't seem simple (what is?). The manual suggests that the following policy guide is a 'must read', * http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ And additionally these two too: * http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/ * http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/maint-guide/ Ignoring all that, I've downloaded the set of existing 'mediawiki-extensions' packages so that we can just learn by example. I've ignored mediawiki-math, because it has some nasty looking architecture dependencies that I'd rather not try to understand yet. I've also ignored mediawiki-semediawiki, just to get the ball rolling by focusing on simple extensions. I've created a repo where we can coordinate changes on these files here: https://github.com/dbolser/Debian-MediaWiki-Extensions Feel free to fork, or I can add you as a collaborator. Looking at these files, it now seems relatively straightforward to update the extension and it's deps. Then it's a (simple?) matter of 're-packaging' and submitting them to Debian (/me needs to read how). Initially, I'd suggest that we drop the 'mediawiki-extensions' meta-package, and rename all 'extensions' to match the convention established by the existing packages, i.e. mediawiki-semediawiki should become mediawiki-extensions-smw, or similar. I'll have a look at fixing the dependency problems and I'll let you know. Cheers, Dan. > Cheers > > -- > Jeroen De Dauw > http://www.bn2vs.com > Don't panic.
