Dear all, I am on a project with the Vienna City Administration using SMW for the first time. As their strategic choice for databases is PostgreSQL (not MySQL) the might consider testing SMW on their environment (RedHat 6 Enterprise, PostgreSQL 9.1.6).
Unfortunately, I just read that the PostgreSQL support seems to be broken altogehter: http://semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/PostgreSQL https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42659 Can anyone help us out? Does the patch work? Is the database problem something you can fix during installation or are more problems to be expected once you are running SMW? What is the reason for the broken PostgreSQL support? As I don't think it is a good idea to do the project with SMW 1.7.1 it would be important to get some more insight and community support in order to get this working again. What were your experiences with PostgreSQL support in earlier SMW versions?
