Actually, the use of the Composer introduced a necessary adoption but that have been dealt with [1] in a way that as long as you maintain enableSemantics() within your LocalSettings (as it was required before) the use of SMW-NS related configurations are not influenced by the installation method. PS: Someone made an effort to write a detailed guideline [2].
