I hesitate to advertise a specific hosting site, but dreamhost (
http://www.dreamhost.com/) does offer this for all of their plans. you can
also compile php as you need.
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Sites_using_Semantic_MediaWiki does appear to
be complete, but does contain a list of sites using SMW.
http://ontoworld.org/wiki/Sites_using_Semantic_MediaWiki has some others,
too i think. Its also easier to read.

I'm trying to create a semantic wiki about cryptography (to support my
open
source Crypto++ library as well as to serve as a public resource). It's
going well so far. I've got everything installed and have been learning
annotations, queries, templates, etc. Except I just found out that using
wildcards in queries requires "--enable-mbstring" which my hosting service
does not support. Since it is not a default configuration option for PHP,
I
imagine very few commercial web hosting services will support it. However
I
think I really need this feature (i.e. wildcards).
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Also, is there a list of wikis using the Semantic MediaWiki extension? I'd
like to have more examples to learn from (besides ontoworld.org).
If anyone is interested, you can see the beginnings of my efforts here:
