There are patents in Europe (see MP3 patents...)! And G729 is also 
protected in the EU. Anyway, if you need G729, try to find a library 
vendor (ex: VoiceAge). Then we could talk about integration of the 
codec. It is fairly easy (one or two days), if the library is well done.

But beware that the initial fee is 15.000$... Then, you pay per channel, 
which is a concept which is not supported by SEMS anyway. The only thing 
you could do would be to limit the number of sessions, and tell them 
this is your number of channels...
