for echo cancellation I would use the one from spandsp http://www.soft-switch.org/spandsp-doc/echo_can_page.html http://www.soft-switch.org/spandsp-modules.html
the spandsp can be used as alternative inband DTMF detector (better than the builtin one), set USE_SPANDSP in Makefile.defs.
