Sorry for my late reply. although i was lost at some points, I did manage to implement it myself but was still testing the changes. To explain a bit more why I needed such a feature: this was requested by a co-worker and the default was fine from sip point of view, but sometimes there are special requirements. I was also worried about the idea of messing with the contact header. Thanks so much for your effort and help.
