Ex-IMF head Strauss-Kahn goes on trial, accused of ‘procuring prostitutes’

Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn went on trial in France on Monday, and
is accused of procuring prostitutes. Investigating magistrates who sent him to
trial in the northern city of Lille with 13 others argue he knew he was dealing
with prostitutes when taking part in sex parties in Paris, Lille and Washington
from 2008 to 2011, Reuters quoted a judicial source as saying. He is charged
with “procuring with aggravating circumstances” and risks as much as 10 years
in jail and a fine of up to $1.7 million if convicted.
