BELGRADE, 3 December (BelTA) - Belarus will help Serbia reform its army.
Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic made the statement after negotiations with
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 3 December, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandar Vucic said: "Today we've made the decision to reform our army. It
will become more mobile and faster. It doesn't mean we are going to buy
weapons. Contrariwise, we will suspend weapons acquisition. We are going to
smartly develop the defense system and will become much stronger than we are
today. We can learn a great deal from Belarus in this field."

Aleksandr Lukashenko agreed with the Serbian leader's statement that his
country needs a powerful and mobile army. The Belarusian head of state had
discussed these approaches to reforming Serbia's Armed Forces with the
previous leaders of the country. "Today you have at last started working on
your army. We can share the experience of creating the Armed Forces with
you," he said.
