Marijan Ivanusa, the head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Serbia said
on Wednesday the country was among the best in Europe regarding the situation
with the coronavirus epidemic, adding it "did well after the worsening recorded
in July and August."

"The fundamental and simple anti-pandemic measures are respected showing it
could be under control," Ivanusa told the state RTS TV.

Asked if it was necessary to re-introduce the state of emergency, he said the
current situation was good and that there was reason to introduce additional
measures. "It should follow the situation daily, and if it becomes worse it
should think about additional measures," Ivanusa said.

Commenting on the pandemic situation in Europe, he said it was apparent the
virus was not giving up and that it should be especially cautious in autumn
when people would be more indoor where the spreading of the virus would be
easier.

Ivanusa said dozens of companies were in in the third, final phase of the
vaccine testing but that none was ready for use.

"We'll accept every vaccine that has passed all clinical tests and is safe and
effective," he added.
