Air Serbia launches Nikola Tesla Airbus Author:Beta 1-2 minutes _____ Air Serbia launched the first flight of one of its Airbus aircraft with named after Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla at Belgrade airport on Thursday. The flight to New York was seen off by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic who said that Air Serbia played an important role during the coronavirus pandemic by ferrying Serbian citizens home when the pandemic broke out as well as medical supplies. "We relied on our airline at every moment," she said. According to Brnabic, the government's financial support to Air Serbia would be forthcoming in future if needed in line with the rules to protect competition. The Airbus A330-200 had the image of Nikola Tesla painted on it at the Irish airline hub Shannon. The aircraft was built in 2008 and was previously operated by the Russian Aeroflot.
