Milosevic 'deserves the respect of Serbia', says minister betabriefing and EURACTIV.rs 1-2 minutes _____ Serbian Interior Minister and leader of the Movement of Socialists Aleksandar Vulin said on Thursday that the former Serbian and Federal Republic of Yugoslavia President Slobodan Milošević, accused of having committed alleged war crimes, “deserves the respect of Serbia and Serbs but also of everyone who respects freedom fighters.” On the 15th anniversary of the former Serbian president’s death, Vulin said that history “will be much more just toward Slobodan Milošević than his contemporaries were.” “Not all of Slobodan Milošević’s friends were his friends, nor Serbia’s friends, but all of Slobodan Milošević’s enemies were true enemies of Serbia” and this is a fact that history will confirm, Vulin was quoted as saying by the Movement of Socialists. Milošević died on 11 March 2006 while in custody at the International Criminal Tribunal. He was accused of war crimes in Kosovo, Bosnia and Croatia during the wars in the former Yugoslavia.
