KFOR said on Friday it could not determine the exact location of the three
Kosovo Police officers who were arrested by the Serbian Police.

“The NATO-led KFOR mission has reviewed the location of the event and spoken
with representatives of the Institutions in Kosovo and of the Serbian
authorities. Based on available input, it remains unclear where the Kosovo
Police officers were at the time of the arrest,” a press release said.

It recalled that institutions in Kosovo and the Serbian authorities have clear
responsibilities to coordinate with KFOR in the location near the
Administrative Boundary Line and that the deployment of Kosovo Security Forces
to northern Kosovo requires the prior consent of the KFOR commander.

“KFOR welcomes all efforts by the diplomatic community to resolve this issue,”
the press release said and added that KFOR commander Major General Ristuccia is
in regular contact with Kosovo institutions and security organisations as well
as with representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces, the EU Rule of Law Mission
(EULEX), the OSCE and the diplomatic community.
