Vucic meets with last Nazi hunter: "We are grateful to Dr. Zuroff for spreading truth about Jasenovac" Dragica Ranković 5–6 minutes _____ Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic <https://www.telegraf.rs/teme/aleksandar-vucic> met today with Efraim Zuroff, retired director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the last Nazi hunter, emphasizing the importance of his decades-long struggle for justice, truth and memory of the victims of Nazi crimes. Vucic said that Zuroff's work goes beyond the boundaries of archives and court documents - it is reflected in the names that he brought to history and in making the Holocaust victims visible again. In a post on his official Instagram account, Vucic added that Serbia especially appreciates Zuroff's commitment to spreading the truth about the suffering of the Serb people in the Jasenovac death camp (in WW2 Independent State of Croatia, NDH). "We are grateful for everything he did for the sake of the truth about the suffering of the Serb people in Jasenovac. While others turned their heads away, he spoke - with knowledge and heart," stressed the president of Serbia. During the meeting, they discussed further steps in preserving the memory of the victims of the Nazi regime, as well as the joint fight against historical revisionism and anti-Semitism. "Serbia remains resolute in the fight against anti-Semitism, and our obligation is to preserve the memory for the sake of the past, but even more so for the sake of the future," said Vucic.
