President of Serbia Aleksandar
Vucic<https://www.telegraf.rs/teme/aleksandar-vucic> today visited the Jankovic
family, farm owners in the village of Tolic near Mionica in western Serbia.
Vucic was welcomed by four generations of the Jankovic family, Budimir and his
wife Katarina, their son Strahinja and his wife Aleksandra and their two
children, as well as the oldest member of the family, Zivota.
The president was accompanied by Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic and
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamocic, as well
as the president of the municipality of Mionica, Boban Jankovic.
The farm has five facilities with a total of 140,000 hens, which produce
120,000 eggs per day.
The president and his team were welcomed in a traditional way - with brandy,
and a home-cooked meal.
Vucic at one point asked if the Jankovics had received any assistance from the
state.
"We didn't. I tried once, but gave up," Budimir Jankovic said, to which the
president replied that he understood because it is a procedure "that someone
thought out beautifully but which is complicated."
Vucic then told Minister Mesarovic to find a way to assist the family in an
easier manner.
He also said that a bypass should be built around Mionica and announced help
for building local roads and solving problems related to water supply.
"We still have a lot to do in Mionica, although we have already done a lot. We
must build a bypass around Mionica," Vucic said during the visit.
According to him, 48 kilometers of roads have been completed while another 40
kilometers remain to be done.
"Even when you do that, yet another 40 kilometers will be needed and it's never
enough," said Vucic.
He added that the state will help if the last section of the local water supply
system needs to be completed by May, in order to get the whole system done by
by the summer.
The president also spoke about yesterday's victory of the SNS-led list in the
local elections in
Mionica<https://www.telegraf.rs/english/4224671-sns-leader-vucevic-our-electoral-list-achieved-convincing-and-clear-victory-in-negotin-mionica-and-secanj>,
but also about the incidents that accompanied the voting.
"I was also afraid because of yesterday's elections. I'm afraid of all
elections. Every day I worry about us having oil, diesel, kerosene... I always
have the fear. My wish is always for us to be the best and I'm always
dissatisfied. I found flaws in Negotin. I analyzed it last night, I couldn't
sleep, I found more thing in Negotin we have to work on," said the president.
According to him, only losers have no fears, and in this context he referred to
yesterday's incidents in a tavern in Mionica.
"They (opposition) say that they are morally the winners. They rely on thugs
from all over. From Ljig, Kosjeric, Cacak, Valjevo, Sabac... What have you
done, people. You lost an election again. They pulled out a gun in one place,"
the president said.
"We must look at what we are doing wrong. Where we promised (to build)
waterworks, but water is not flowing yet. People get used to good things
easily. We have to work even harder, even better. I saw that in Negotin there's
amazing things, but there are also some that are not so much amazing. I am not
satisfied when the result is 90-35. For them, it's the 'No Worries League'," he
added of his political opponents.
The president also said, talking about the opposition, that violence cannot
change anything and called for dialogue, asking them to start a conversation.
"We will have to be protecting them from each other," Vucic remarked, and
concluded: "Today we officially entered the election year. We will have
elections within a year, at the latest. Now all that remains is preparations,
to see who participates and to see if there will be only parliamentary or
parliamentary and presidential elections held at the same time."
