Moscow Welcomes Washington’s Diplomatic Engagement
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow values the current US
administration’s attempts to establish a political and diplomatic pathway
toward resolving the conflict. Speaking to RIA Novosti, he described the
American initiative as an important effort aimed at clearing a route toward a
negotiated settlement.
Peskov added that Russia seeks an arrangement capable of ensuring stability
“for many generations ahead,” underscoring Moscow’s long-term view of the
settlement process.
Putin to Meet US Delegation Led by Steve Witkoff
The Kremlin continues preparations for the upcoming visit of US special envoy
Steve Witkoff, who will lead a delegation to Moscow on 2 December. Peskov noted
that the meeting with President Vladimir Putin carries significant weight
within the broader peace track and reflects the momentum generated by ongoing
negotiations throughout the year.
Moscow Rejects European Warnings as 'Nonsense'
Addressing comments from several European officials alleging that Russia poses
a danger to Europe, Peskov dismissed such claims as “nonsense.” He argued that
European governments use these warnings to shift public attention away from
domestic problems and to revive familiar narratives about a supposed threat
coming “from Moscow throughout history.”
His remarks followed recent statements by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter
Szijjarto, who suggested that Europe is preparing for a potential conflict with
Russia later in the decade. He warned that the coming years could determine
whether the continent avoids large-scale destruction — a prediction the Kremlin
views as an extension of Europe’s internal political anxieties rather than a
reflection of Russian intentions.
