Azerbaijan’s presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev has said that the partnership
between Azerbaijan and Serbia is opening up new opportunities to expand
cooperation and strengthen ties between the Balkans and the South Caucasus.

with Blic TV, Hajiyev, who heads the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of
Azerbaijan’s Presidential Administration, outlined plans to deepen bilateral
engagement.

He said a meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council is scheduled to take
place during the forthcoming visit of Azerbaijan’s president. The session is
expected to focus on future areas of cooperation, with particular emphasis on
the economy, investment, energy and the development of business links.

Hajiyev noted that the friendly relations and regular dialogue between the
presidents of Azerbaijan and Serbia play a key role in advancing ties.

“Alongside this, there are strong traditions of friendship between our
peoples,” he said.

“Our countries are situated in strategically important regions — the Caucasus
and the Balkans — and we believe that the partnership between Serbia and
Azerbaijan creates additional regional opportunities to deepen cooperation and
enhance connectivity between the Balkans and the South Caucasus.”
