Well, unfortunately I was one of the few that ruined my leather shift knob 
in the process of trying to remove it. I wrapped the thing in a shop towel 
as recommended by the Haynes. I used a big adjustable set of pliers to take 
that thing off. I turned and turned without the pliers...no worky. Good luck 
though...and by the way, wrapping it with the shop towel didn't save the 
shift knob...ended up gripping/turning so hard that it ripped the stitching. 
After that I gave up all hope on saving it. And by the way, 1 month later 
and my MOMO knob still hasn't arrived. Basically poor customer service once 
again. Errr!!!!!
