Well, the bucket...I mean Saturn got us home...to Mass. anyways. Out of the 2828 mile round trip to Ark. and back, the Saturn made it all but 60 miles. While climbing a hill just after the Conneticut/Mass border, the car downshifted into 3rd gear at 70mph and spun a bearing in doing so. The cuise control was set, but by the time I disengaged it, it was too late. I got about 10-15 more miles out of it after that and the engine shut down. It started once after that and moved itself into the mechanic's garage before completely shitting the bed. The mechanic at Saturn says that one of the bearings is spun (translated from my g/f, so I don't know all the details), but that there is no other evidence of damage. He says that he has never seen anything like it because there is usually additional damage to the engine other than the spun bearing. I figure/hope that it is just a faulty bearing, but we are replacing all 4 of them anyways. Any comments on the intelligence of this? Anyways, I'm back in Mass, back in my Nissan, and loving the fact that I can rub it into my g/f's face that her Saturn (with only 73k on it) couldn't make the 2800 mile trip more than once, but my 200SX (with 123k on it) has made the trip 4 times without so much as burning an oz. of oil. I love my Nissan :-) ST3 http://www.geocities.com/ST3_200/ST3.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Non-performance related topics? http://www.egroups.com/group/NissanHotBodies ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Attachments are not accepted by the list.
