Well I'll do it. The Sentra SE-R included during the early 90's
production year has a problem with the degradation of the MAF sensors
ground wire. It causes the computer to put out a higher voltage signal
in order to reach what it deems as a reference voltage in order to
compensate for the ground wire. Well that's not you question. Reground
refers to putting in a new ground wire to fix this common problem.
Don't cut out the stock one simply instal a new one. Here's an abridged
version. Remove the MAF sensor harness from the sensor at the airbox
union. Identify the ground wire with a digital multi meter. Strip the
insulation as close to the terminal as possible or remove that wire from
the harness. Solder a new wire of 16 AWG or larger. Route this wire
along the same path to the common muti ground point on the intake
manifold. Crimp or solder a ring terminal to the end of the new wire
and ground it to the exact same spot as the original wire. The ECU
somehow references this point with a certain learned voltage signal to
take readings for ground on many engine sensors. Viola all done.
Good luck'
