Maybe the timing is too much advanced, if you did this, I would take it back
to 10 or 8 whatever year you have. Did they run the consult on it? The book
also said to find a known good ECU and try that. You may want to do this if
possible. If the thig keeps pinging, eventually it may destroy the motor.
Also use High test gas if you are not doing this already, My dads maxima
pinged up hills and he was using 87. He now used 93 and it stopped. I have
to clean his EGR and BPT valve and stuff, but the hightest cured it. Maybe
the pistons have too much carbon buildup, if you can get combustion chamber
cleaner that works, do that too.
I can't figure it out either!
