I don't recall seeing a response to this subject, so I will take a
"whack" at it:
Whether there is another color or not, you could easily mount a new
light inside your trunk, and possibly use your stock wiring for the
install.
If all else fails, and you can't use your stock wiring, running new
wires to the back and hooking up pin switches to the trunk lid shouldn't
be all that hard.
Once the new light is chosen for the install, just make sure that you
can change the color of the light before you buy the harness.
If you wanted to go "full blast" on this idea, you could probably wire a
fog light to the inside of the trunk and see into next year with that
type of set up. I know that you can change the color of most fog lights.
