james I got the book out.
EF&EC-178, in myt 1992 manual. Procedure 41 symptom, engine stalls
when electrical load is heavy. Your air conditioning on?
1. Check battery and alternator
2. perform a power balance test with the consult computer
3. Check injectors, this is hard james, they say remove
distributor!!!! They say when you rotate the distrib by hand does
each injector make a sound?
4. They said if they do, then check spark in coil, take a good plug
put the plug in the end and ground it, if its good, fine, if not,
check coil, power transistor, circuits.
5. Check fuel pressure with a guage between the fuel filter and the
engine, this will tell you a problem if there is one. at idle 36
psi, turn off key and turn key back on to gain pressure in pump, it
should now be 43 psi.
James you will have to splice into the fuel line to do this, so a
new one is advised to be replaced after you check it.
6. Check the ECU harness connector, check pin terminals for damage
7. Check the ECU power supply and ground circuit
8. Check the ECU, by using a known good ECU from a friends car of
same year and stuff.
James, in my opinion, I think you are losing fuel pressure, I would check
this first, you replace the fuel filter and there was a gain a little? I
would think the Fuel pump is not good anymore, check for recall, if the thing
doesn't hold pressure. Also, my specs are for a 92 1.6, call the dealer and
ask them for the 95 specs for fuel pressure. at idle and when motor is off.
This will tell you alot.
hope this info helps
