He couldn't go anywhere since people were completely blocking his car in
(unless he wanted to get shot I guess). The last thing you want to do at
the San Diego street races is run someone over. You will have a lot of
people after you. Plus, he didn't have much time to react. All of a
sudden, if there's 30 people around your car bashing in it, you can't really
do too much. He was trying to back up and get out of there but that's when
he hit a couple of people and that's when everyone started tearing the car
apart. In less than a minute, it's destroyed.
