How do you define HIGH POWER in this case? You will only really start to
have problems when you exceed the current carrying capacity of the wires you
are using, or your light housing is made of plastic.
The wires will give, or the plastic will melt.
Either way, you are playing with fire.
I personally would prefer not to find my car charred so I won't wait till
"something happens".
If you want to upgrade your lighting system, get some relays, thicker wires
and do it right.
Too many of those aftermarket bulbs are untrust worthy. They may rate a
certain wattage but may not even come close to it. The ones that do draw
more current are the ones I'd worry about.
The bulbs with nothing more than a bigger number stamped on the sides are
harmless, and any gain you notice in brightness is due to the fact you paid
70 bucks per pair and is all in your head.
