I tried to rebleed my heads today incase maybe I did that incorrectly too in
an effort to try to cure the pinging.
I followed the instructions in the FSM but it didn't work out too well.
I tried the part were it tells you to plug a transparent tube into the bleed
hole and run the tube to the coolant overflow resevoir.
I used that "temporary coolant fill cap" trick where you put a wire into the
cap so as to let any excess coolant or air flow into the resevoir tank as
well as explained in the FSM.

For a while I saw little bubbles travel up the hose and into the overflow
tank but then I started to notice the tank was just filling up. Then the
bubbles got bigger and bigger, I immediately shut off the engine and looked
at the coolant level. I had accomplished nothing but run the heads dry. I
read the instructions over and over again to make sure i did it right. I
tried it again only to have the same results.

I'm really getting sick and tired of all the headaches associated with this
engine. If I never get this fixed, I'm never ever buying a Nissan again. It
took a while for me to get the car to run right after I bought it used. That
was acceptable since I learned so much working on the car. But this pinging
problem is absolutely chronic. I cannot fix it.
The advice I've gotten on the list have so far gotten me nowhere.
I've looked at the FSM over and over again but it seems pretty hopeless. The
frustration level is just about all I can take with it now,
I think I'll just let the engine destroy itself. Atleast I'll never have to
touch another ga16de ever again.
