SML: JWT ECU: standing alone?

What's up. what gains can i expect with a JWT ECU WITHOUT engine mods, or 
exhaust, intake, etc.? I called JWT but they never returned my phone call. 
Basically i'm trying to decide if the $600 is worth it.
