If the cleaner fluid can go through down your >piston bearings, doesn't that mean you got a leak there and you're burning >oil? You gotta keep inmind that EVERY car has leak down through the piston rings. It is not a perfect seal. Letting the cleaner sit in the combustion chamber for a day and a half let the stuff seep through the rings and eventually into the oil. I am not burning oil however. In that regard my engine is MINT, I've never noticed the oil level to drop at all. I guess it was a good idea that I changed the oil today and also switched to full synthetic at the same time. Mobil 1 of course. I think I'll definitely make this one a SOLM article incase someone else has a problem like this. What a PITA!!!!!!!! Arrrrrgh!! The guy who wrote the DSM article had a tablespoon full of hard granular stuff inside his cylinders. I wouldn't be too surprised if that was the case in my motor too. Oh, and for those people who asked. I just picked up regular combustion chamber cleaner from the local parts shop. Sprayed it into a beaker and then threaded a vacuum line through the spark plug hole. Then I just poured the cleaner into the cylinders through the vacuum line. I didn't want to wash crap inside the plug wells into the cylinders. I still can't believe how effective that method was for cleaning the piston tops off. Ken
