First, we need to find out why it's chipping, and how far down. Is it just
to the primer, or to the bare fiberglass? If it's the primer, it's probably
due to the paint being applied wrong. Is it a Clearcoat/Basecoat paintjob,
or do you know? If it's clearcoated for sure, and it's just to the primer,
you may be able to touch it up yourself and apply clear with a small brush,
then when it's hard enough, you can wet sand it down and take the buffer to
it to make it smooth as glass again(only if you know what the heck your doing
with a buffer)
Are you considering a new paintjob on the bumper? If so, you might want to
look into an Acrylic Enamel paint, which is a lot more durable, but has to be
sprayed basically perfect, because i don't know if you can rub AE out.
And also, i have seen transparent bumper cover tape for exactly what you need
it for, i just can't remember where?
Maybe thjis will help us get started?
