let me try to end this. no matter what car im into on every board theres
always some v8 guy trying to start arguements. my generation is the bridge
from v8s to imports. i was a teenager in the late eighties and early
nineties. i had novas, camaros and a very quick monte ss . nobody could ever
convince me to try an import.than i started noticing starions beating
mustangs at the street races in brooklyn late at night. still i thought one
jap car thats fast big deal. then i joined the marines and went to live in
japan for a year.
i could not belive the cars over there
skylines,silvas,cosmos,bluebird sss ,honda cities,truenos. one nightwhile i
was driving my fairlady z. a car pulled next to me and it was like half the
size of a festiva. we reved up at the light and raced. he was in fourth gear
before i was out of second and leaving me far behind. the car was a mira leza
which had a 1.1 liter supercharged engine. i couldnt belive this car beat me.
1.1 LITERS! WHAT?
after that i was sold on jap cars forever. i sold my
fairlady to my friend and bought an early skyline turbo,2 liter straight six
non intercooled. IT WAS THE GREATEST CAR I WOULD EVER OWN.i hated to sell it
when i left but thats life.
american cars are heavy unrefined pieces of trash ! i
hope i didnt bore anyone but i have experienced racing scene on both sides of
the world. this loud mouth needs to take a trip to the far east to open up
his eyes.one may argue we dont have those cars here but the aftermarket makes
up for it.
