Guys,
I don't know if you know this or not. But Nissan was the FIRST company in
the world to tamper w/ the variable valve thing back in the 80s w/ the first
gen. maxima. Although they never called it "variable valve timimig", it was
the first generation and the first step to all these other car companies
using and developing the technology. And yes, the GA16DE DOES have a
variable valve, but its not like the honda VTEC, it doesn't kick in at a
certain RPM. what it does is that its milder version of what toyota does
(constant valve variation). But once again, its not as sophisticated as the
VVTL that toyota has either. The SR20VE and the VET use the variable valve
as sophisticated as toyota and honda. So you can go tell all your honda
buddies (not that any nissan fan should have one!) that Nissan was the first
to even THINK and USE the variable valve in ANY car in the world.
