The spec of 192 psi for compression is only at a specified cranking speed. 
It will be much higher (probably 1000 psi and above) if the engine is 
running. If you don't believe it, connect a compression gauge to one 
cylinder and start it up while leaving the plug wire from that cyl grounded. 
I would be willing to bet you will be buying a new compression gauge.
