Okay, well if you have a FSM its real easy to spot using the ECU wiring
diagram. The small signal from the ECU goes to the base of the power
transistor and turns the coil on and off to induce a voltage.
You just have to splice into the wire at the ECU and VOILA, no need to run a
wire all the way to the coil.
I'll do an article on this when I get my tach from Importpartsplus.com soon.
Then you can forget about laying a new wire to the engine compartment. I'm
not saying what you did was wrong, but there is an easier way thats all.
Obviously your tach works fine so no harm there.
