regular frams for years, I switched to the tough guard filters because of the
new antidrainvalve they put in them. Our maxima has no problems, the old 86
sentra mule was using them for 12 years and I never had sludge or any wear
problems related to having dirty oil. I really don't see the evidence and I
also heard from mechanics that purolator air and oil filters were not the
best in the world either and WIX are not that great either, but most filters
do the same job and generally use the same ideas except for filteration
material. I use the K&N oil filter in the sentra since they came out, but I
run the car once a month or so, so I don't shell out money + I use Amsoil
synthetic thats 6.25 a quart!
What does consumer reports say? they are impartial, I wonder
what they say, if they rate fram the worst I may switch, but if not, then I
will continue to use the things and i probably won't have any problems
either.
