True. I should know,I have one. but I have found that if you live close
enough,and can drive down there,you can get a WAY better deal,than if you
were to just order over the phone.
Here's what happened when I went to buy my STB from $tillen:(The Sales rep
name has been ommited to save him undue embarassment,and to make sure I
still have a hook up)
I call up the $tillen rep,XXXX,and he quotes me $225.00,but since I'm
comming down,he can let it go for $179.00. I tell him I'll be right down.
I get there,and the receptionist tells me that,XXXX,is on the phone with a
customer,ok I can wait. Twenty minutes later,XXXX,comes out,apologizes,and
shows me to his desk to write everything up."I quoted you $169.00
right?",umm yeah,that's right. The phone rings,some customer from Australia.
Another twenty minutes go by. XXXX,get's off the phone and says"Sorry about
that,$159.00 right?" Yeah. Okay,another phone call,another twenty minutes.
XXX,gets off the phone,apologizes and says"Okay,that was $149.00,but since
you had to wait so long,I'll make it $139.00,deal?" Deal.
