lower area of the windshield around where the wipers sit if you have
them) shut off automatically after a pre-determined amount of time. This
is so nobody forgets them on.>>

Ok...I wan't going to say anything when Tom B. made the comment, but
since there are now 2 ppl who have said this, I will make the
correction:

My '86 Honda Accord LXi did not have a predetermined time limit on the
rear defrost. I could leave it on for as long as I wanted to, which was
nice on long trips b/c I didn't have to worry about turning it back on
every time.

When winter started, I simply turned it on and forgot about it until
spring time (which in turn I usually forgot about until
mid-summer....lol). When I bought my 200 SX, there were two things that
I automatically didn't like about it:
1). had to keep turning on the rear defrost
2). had to keep turning on the cruise everytime I got in the car

Both were very annoying when I first got the car.
