There have been problems in which group deals have to be shut down because of
the price being offered. Think about it this way; if you were a vendor/dealer
on this list, and you see a competitor offering a deal on a certain item that
you also carry, but your competitor was offering it at a price that's very
nearly close or even below wholesale, wouldn't you cry foul? More often than
not, some competitor will complain about the big discount, and that's one of
the reasons why group deal pricing isn't posted to the entire list. Sometimes,
the vendor of the group deal remains nameless so there's less chance for the
group deal to fall through. Rather than posting to the entire list asking the
price of something, it would have been better to e-mail the person running the
deal privately, or even check old messages to see if the pricing was posted.
