Why are you guys worried about hurting the Ozone by letting the freon out into the air. It is a proven fact that Freon is three times heavier than air, it sinks not rises. Most auto reapair places would be happy to take the freon out and recycle it, Saves the shop a lot of money seemin Freon (R12) sells for 27 bucks wholesale. Just My .02 Blaine
