first let me say that the ser was stock and my car has a header, full 2 inch
exhaust, weapon r intake, msd 6al, energy torque mounts and timing at 12
degrees. i was able to keep up with my friend down the road. i drove his car
a bit and i loved the way the car handled and brakes. the engine was a slight
bit stronger in the lower rpm range but not so much that it really impressed
me. this is where my se is a bit hollow torque wise but in the mid and higher
rpm range i didnt notice much of a difference at all. in fact it was pretty
much even. his car is healthy, so thats not in the equation.the only thing i
was impressed with was the suspension and the shifter. but my suspension and
shifter are stock. i plan upgrades in the future so this wouldnt be a reason
for me to buy an ser. i think with an ser throttlebody , jwt cams, ur pulleys
and ecu upgrade my car could be more that competitive with sers with just
intakes headers and exhaust. i know alot of you would disagree but the side
by side test i did today did not favor the ser. sure it has more from the
factory but a moderately modified se can definately hang with a mildly
modified ser. let me say also you would be hard pressed to come across an ser
that had more that just mild mods on the street.
