If it was the second generation CRX (EF chassis), the Si model only had 108hp
(105hp for the '88 model.) The advantage these cars have over our cars is
weight. They range anywhere from 1900lbs to 2100lbs. You were probably the
better driver (shifting early = not good), or he could have had the CRX DX
(92hp) or the fuel-friendly CRX HF (62hp). As for the first gen CRX's, I don't
believe that model has ever had an engine that was rated over 100hp. They're
great cars, and their low weight compensates for the lack of power. (They make
great autoxsers and track cars, though.)
